HOW IS IT DIAGNOSED?

The skin lesions of cat
scratch disease can sometimes be confused with those of
Kaposi's
sarcoma. Definitive
diagnosis generally requires a biopsy (sampling of tissue) for
microscopic examination and culture. Occasionally blood cultures or a
serologic test for Bartonella are useful for establishing the
diagnosis.
